The City has initiated planning efforts for a new park to be located on the vacant lot at the corner of Oxford and Fourth Avenue. This is a 0.46-acre lot which is classified as an Urban Park (0-4 acres) and will provide amenities to surrounding residential areas, schools and businesses. It is located within the same block as Lauderbach Park and Lauderbach Elementary School.

In order to develop the Park Master Plan for this site, the City is looking for input from the public through a series of community meetings and online survey.

What is an Urban Park?

The lot size qualifies this site as an Urban Park. Per the City’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan, an Urban Park has a usable area between 0-4 acres and primarily provides daily recreation needs of residents within walking distance of park.

Why now?

The site has been vacant for several years following the demolition of Fire Station #5. The community has expressed a desire for a park in this location that would provide much needed amenities for surrounding residential areas.

Your Voice Matters!

It is important for the City to understand the priorities for the surrounding residents, school groups and other park users in order to develop the Park Master Plan.
